On November 2, 2018, a meeting of the Public Council of Rosatom State Corporation was held under the chairmanship of the Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev.
The central topics of discussion at the meeting were issues of interaction with international and foreign public organizations on the formation of public acceptability of nuclear energy and a request for the development of Russian nuclear technologies abroad.
The meeting was attended by General Director of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev, Deputy Director of Development and International Business of Rosatom State Corporation Boris Arseev, Deputy Director of the International Activities Unit of Rosatom State Corporation Marina Belyaeva, Head of the Department for Work with the Regions of Rosatom State Corporation Andrey Polosin.
In his opening remarks, Alexey Likhachev noted the particular importance of the issues put forward for consideration and discussion during the meeting. “In our activities, work with civil society is of particular importance. Public acceptability is a key component in the implementation of projects of national importance, which is the construction of a nuclear power plant, ”he stressed. "We must conduct a systematic and systematic work on the formation not only of acceptability, but of the relevance of our technologies, on the formation not only of loyalty, but of a friendly attitude to the construction of our facilities abroad."
During the meeting, Boris Arseev, Deputy Director of the Development and International Business Unit of Rosatom State Corporation, made a report:

Today, Rosatom’s portfolio includes 36 power units at various stages of implementation in 12 countries. A significant success factor is working with the public, and we see this as our direct responsibility. One of the tools that has successfully established itself in working with the public in the territory of the Russian Federation was the "Information Center of the Nuclear Industry". " Its main tasks are public education in the field of atomic energy, popularization of science and scientific and technical knowledge. In Russia today there are 16 such centers, and we are happy to share and share our experience in this matter with customers abroad. Today, nuclear industry information centers are successfully operating in Bangladesh, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Turkey. ”
